Support for Healthy Kidneys, Bladder, Urine, and More
UroBoost is supportive of all parts of the Urologic System. This includes the kidneys, ureters, bladder, and even some of the reproductive and genital tracts that are so closely associated. There are many other aspects of the body that rely on a healthy Urologic and Renal System – blood pressure, electrolytes, blood cell levels, and more are dependent on these systems to function optimally. Although UroBoost provides additional and directed support to the Urologic System – it still provides support to the entire body.
UroBoost is a Ready To Use (RTU) product – which is already diluted to a rate that most animals can tolerate easily. UroBoost builds upon our KittyBoost formula – adding essential oils that specifically support the kidneys and urologic system – to the already amazing and supportive blend. KittyBoost, as well as UroBoost, are not “just for cats” – read below for directions for each species.
Are essential oils safe for use with compromised kidneys?
It’s not always an easy answer. While I do not hesitate to use essential oils with all sorts of renal disease patients, I also want to make sure they are fully hydrated. This is the “Catch 22”. On one hand, essential oils can help a renal patient feel better, drink more, and maintain better health and hydration. And on the other hand, just like with a massage – being well hydrated is important in our ability to mobilize and excrete the by-products of health and healing. While I have never witnessed essential oils to additionally harm kidney health when used correctly – I do feel that the best candidates for use of essential oil support – are those who are properly hydrated.
Please make sure to work in combination with your veterinarian, to best support your animal in health and healing. In our veterinary hospital, I would routinely gather a minimum data base of a Blood Chemistry Profile, CBC, and Cysto Urinalysis prior to starting essential oil therapies. While this is not mandatory, I felt it was best in evaluating the current condition of the animal I wanted to help, their hydration status – and to get a baseline in which to compare future values to. Thus – being able to recognize if the care we were giving made valuable contributions.
What about urinary infections, cystitis, stones, and crystals?
Working with your veterinarian is even more important in these situations, so that you can obtain an accurate diagnosis. Hydration is still one of the utmost concerns – so make sure to read the newsletter linked in the button above. UroBoost is supportive for all of the urinary conditions mentioned, although I will say that when oral antibiotics are indicated by your veterinarian, essential oils are usually not a viable option to replace them. Essential oils have been very helpful in supporting the resolution of difficult urinary cases, or in keeping the frequency of attacks and re-infection at bay. But as a total treatment option – I would not want you to have unrealistic expectations. In some situations, daily use of the UroBoost may be indicated and can bring relief and comfort to an acute urinary irritation. It is always best to try to use essential oils only as often as is needed to keep symptoms comfortable, so if an application every 3 days maintains comfort – then using the schedule that is best for that individual is recommended (ie applying every 3 days.)

Cats: Cats can use UroBoost in place of KittyBoost when extra support is needed for their kidneys or urologic system. Some cats may already be using our KittyBoost product – and you may want to try UroBoost for them. When this is the case, I often recommend using UroBoost in the same effective methods, doses, and ways that you have already been using the KittyBoost. UroBoost is especially indicated for cats with Renal (Kidney) Disease, Failure, or Urinary Tract issues – but it is important that you work with your veterinarian to correct any underlying medical issues or dehydration. If your cat is ill, you will need to have your veterinarian correct the medical issues at hand, prior to expecting essential oils to aid drastically. We have seen animals supported with essential oils feel better, eat better, and stay more hydrated – which in the veterinary clinic results in lowered renal blood values. Essential oil use really “shines” when used in preventive measures or for cases detected very early in their progression. For dehydrated cats – veterinary intervention is often necessary – and I do find that Intravenous Fluids (IV) may be necessary to get a cat “back on track”. Then I use essential oils to help maintain that state of health and hydration. I do use essential oils right alongside my traditional means – and they appear to help greatly.
Cats can usually use UroBoost right out of the bottle, in the same methods as described for KittyBoost. However, for those of a more delicate nature – further dilution initially (as described above) is a wise start. If your cat is new to essential oils, follow the instructions on the KittyBoost page regarding application.
Alternating use of KittyBoost, UroBoost, LiverBoost, ThyroBalance or other body supporting “boosters” can be a great way to provide all over system support on a routine basis. For example, one of my cats gets a “boost” weekly. One week I may use UroBoost, the following week I use ThyroBalance, and then the next week I might select CardioBoost. Each time, I am supporting a body system just a little bit more specifically – good insurance for the future in my eyes. However, for one of my cats who is a breed prone to developing hypertrophic cardiomyopathy – I may select CardioBoost more often or as my main selection. UroBoost could be used without rotation to other formulas for animals with mainly Urologic support desired.
Dogs: Many dogs can benefit from the additional support of a variety of body systems – even if they are clinically “normal” – an occasional UroBoost is a great idea.
For general maintenance, dogs can have an occasional application of UroBoost for added support of maintaining a healthy and happy Urologic System. This application can be inserted into an AromaBoost application – generally between the #3 and #4 application – although any spot is technically okay. Use whichever schedule you are using for your AromaBoost applications – and apply the same amount of drops as you would with formulas 1-5.
You can also apply UroBoost as a separate application unto itself – if desired. In general, 3-5 drops are applied to small dogs, around 10 pounds (4.5 kgs) and under. However, for dogs who are new to oils, or may be more sensitive – diluting your first few applications can make applications easier on your dog.
